St Kitts

Thursday, January 6th we docked at St Kitts. It was a perfect day…sunny, warm with just enough of a breeze. I went to Frigate Bay which has a lovely beach and all the amenities…chairs & diet coke. The sand there is black so as the day gets hotter sandals become a necessity. The sand gets hotter than Hades. It truly was one of those perfect beach days, reminiscent of one I had last January on Tabayana beach on Roatan Honduras and countless on Seven Mile Beach on Grand Cayman. While on Frigate Bay beach I noticed yellow towels from Celebrity cruises. I asked which ship and they told me it was the Constellation. This is the ship where the band from the Horizon, Illusion who I listened to for months had transferred after the Horizon went to Island cruises. When I got back to the Sea Princess, I saw that the Constellation had berthed right next to us. At ~4:45 I heard the band start playing on the Constellation. I went up to deck 14 and found a spot where I could look right across at the band. I caught the attention of Paul, the lead singer…he about flipped out when he saw me on the Princess ship. He got Tracey’s attention, the band leader and he had a similar reaction. I signaled them, as I would do on the Horizon to play a song I liked, “Wonderful World”. After they finished playing , they announced that they had a special request from Jeff on the Princess ship and they proceeded to play my song. It really is a wonderful world…
