Hamilton and St Georges

Monday afternoon in Hamilton actually turned out better than expected. I managed a few hours of nice sunny weather. I kept hoping for a great day and Tuesday was it. It was sizzling….hot and sunny. Made for a great day.

I headed out early Tuesday (first one off the ship) to explore a large part of St Georges. I went into town, hiked from there to Tobacco Bay where I hung out for a while and got some great photos. Next I went to Fort St Catherine and actually explored the fort and went to the beach. After that I decided to hike to Building Bay to take some photos and just enjoy the scenery. The only problem was it continued to be hotter thanHadess like the day before…Oh well, professional beach bums have to put up with that from time to time. Eventually when I got back to the ship I flipped on the news (CNN) while I was putting my camera away and I heard someone say “Stay away from Bermuda Monday”. That got my attention. I guess I may have to contend with a hurricane next week. Bummer! Better load up with sunshine now…I am, of course.

I've really enjoyed seeing the cruise director, Don Fluke. He's an old friend and a great person...he certainly keeps me laughing. Evenings at the Martini bar have fabulousolous!

With all of the hiking you did today, how could you carry your stock of refreshments with you?
