An amazing day at the Balloon Fiesta....

Well...the skies finally parted to unveil the most amazing day. The weather was perfect and...I got to fly. I flew with an incredible pilot, Eric Hodges, a long time friend (see photo, the guy who isn't me). He is a really terrific pilot and it is always pure joy to have the opportunity to fly with him. We flew in Zephyrus' Kiss which is a beautiful balloon (see photo). We had to launch from off the Balloon field and try and navigate back to the field to hit targets with baggies (beanbag streamers). The flight was made even more amazing by the large pockets of ground fog in the area. During the flight we kissed another balloon (touched envelopes) as shown in the photo. I was never concerned because Eric has everything under control. I can't put into words how surreal it is to go up in a balloon with hundreds of other balloons in the sky. It is a beautiful sight! Thanks again to Eric for an amazing flight and experience. Hopefully tomorrow we will once again be blessed with great weather. In the afternoon there is a Zoo party for the Balloon crews. We will probably go, it's a lot of fun. Never know, I may see my buddy Randy there.

Whitey, as soon as the balloon is recovered...off with the clothes, time for bronzing.
