Wrapping up the first cruise
The first of my five cruises on the Sea Princess came to a close Saturday. It was a great cruise overall. The last two days at sea were wonderful. The weather continued to be hot and sunny, just like I want it. There were several highlights for this first cruise. First, I got to experience Princess cruises for the first time even though the Sea Princess isn’t a true representation of Princess cruises because of its heavy British emphasis. Doesn’t bother me a bit because the Brits are great. Secondly, the people at my dinner table were great. It is a crap shoot typically on whether or not your dinner partners will be compatible. These folks were great, especially Crystal, who celebrated her 90th birthday with us. We really thought she was lying about her age… It was a pleasure seeing my friend Gail again. She got off and is sailing on the Opera at the moment. Princess does a lot of things really nice and the Brits do a great job. The buffets are better than Celebrity but the dinners on Celebrity are normally better than Princess. It’s too bad that Princess can’t make great pizza ....probably good for my waistline .I loved visiting new places like St Barths, St Vincent, Bonaire and Trinidad. Like most ships, the internet is iffy and slow. The Captain is a really terrific person. He is very visible and engaging. The bar service isn’t the best, way too slow. Overall, though I give Princess a thumbs up. The staff has treated me exceptionally well. Celebrity could loose me to them. If Celebrity had treated me better, I wouldn’t have been sailing Princess so they possibly deserve to be abandoned.
