My last day at Fiesta...

We got to the field once again at an ungodly hour Saturday morning looking forward to a great day of ballooning. This was supposed to be a mass ascension where all balloons launched from the field in 3 waves. The weather didn't exactly cooperate. After a weather hold until 0730 the pilots were reconvened for a meeting and basically told to use their discretion on whether or not they were going to inflate and fly. Eric (wisely) chose not to inflate. A number of balloons did fly but then the weather again changed for the worse and the field was closed. It was a bit sad for me since it was my last day at Fiesta but being safe is more important. Later in the morning we went to the awards banquet where my friend Bob Mass won a motorcycle for placing 2nd in the competition....Very cool. I left Albuquerque at 3:30 on an American Airlines flight and ultimately arrived home around 0130 this morning...Yawn. Overall, the trip was great. It was great seeing a lot of old friends, especially Jan and Eric Hodges and Joe and Holly Mickelson....Great folks.

I almost forgot...I sat out in the sun today!
