One sick ship...

I mentioned at the beginning of this trip that the Mercury had had a lot of sick people on board the last two cruises. That situation continues and the Captain announced yesterday that we had cases of the Norwalk virus on board. This is despite the fact that they have been spraying this ship with bleach everywhere, wiping down walls with bleach and spraying some mirobacteria spray. The ship looks really crappy, all glass surfaces have a film and just look dirty from all the spraying. We no longer have pads on the pool chairs. I've gone into the men's room and found all the seats dripping with bleach. This morning I went back to my cabin for a hat and the corridor was filled with crewmembers wearing masks spraying all the walls, doors and door handles. I felt like I was being asphyxiated since of course the guests don'tt wear masks. My cabin door was just dripping with bleach when I got back to the cabin. Gail had a dress she bought yesterday get bleach on it this morning and it's toast. I think Celebrity should have , in hind sight just cancelled a cruise and get the problem resolved. At this point I have no confidence that they will resolve the problem. It's gotten a little funny actually, the crew are not allowed to shake hands with the passengers. I hope Patty and Emily are ready for the April 7th sailing. I see more of the same. Amazing that they can't seem to solve the problem even though people from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) are supposed to be onboard. Nothing like a premium cruise with a taste of luxury. This has been a true departure from the normal cruising experience.
