Difficult times...

As many of you know, after leaving the Mercury I went to Dover Delaware to see my father. I talked with him a couple of times from the Mercury because he had to be hospitalized with some health issues. I thought he was going to get through his latest round of difficulties but last Wednesday he lost the battle and passed away. It has been a difficult time for me, feeling a sense of loss and loneliness. I feel somewhat like an orphan now with Mom and Dad both gone. He is now in a better place, reunited with my Mother. I am now planning to get back to the "grind" and fly to Ft Lauderdale on the 25th, next Tuesday and sailing Wednesday on the Prinsendam. This will be the beginning of my adventure to the Amazon. This will give me time to reflect on many things and come to closure with the loss of my Dad.

Dear Jeff

First of all our deepest sympathies and condolences on the sad loss of your father - not an easy time for you but a comfort that you were with him in his final days.

We have been following your blog since we left you on Sea Princess in February - you have been to some lovely places and as ever your photos have been great.

We look forward to reading about your next trip and hope that it will be a chance for you to reflect on happy family memories and times.

With our very best wishes
Pauline & John (Wirral UK)

Just checked in Jeff and also my deepest as well.
Both Deb and I have experienced the feelings your having now. Odd with both gone but they are together.
Carry on bud and remember that is what frinds are for.
No this does not mean I am paying for your cruise but may send you a diet coke via Fedex...

I want to thank you all for your kind words. It does help hearing from friends during tough times. It would be much better if we were all cruising together again. Take care...time me to start thinking about next weeks adventure. Thanks again.
