Acapulco

What an interesting, fun filled day. First thing this morning I went to see the cliff divers of La Quebrada. It was really nice. We were the first ones there so we got the best seats on the balcony overlooking the cliffs. It’s amazing how high they are diving and how they have to time it just right as the waves come in. Next we went to beach at Playa Condesa at the paradise restaurant. The waves were huge at times but the water was refreshing because it was hotter than Hades. I knew the temperature was supposed to be in the nineties but I didn’t expect it to be such a scorcher. After leaving there I took a taxi part way back to the ship and got out somewhere around playa Hornos. I wanted to check out some other beach areas. This was where a lot of locals apparently go. I also passed a number of fishermen who had brought back their catch and had the fish out for sale. I then walked up… dripping seriously by now….to El Fuerte de San Diego (Fort San Diego) which was located adjacent to our berth for the Mercury (still dripping with bleach). I then made my way back to the ship for a nice cool dip, cold diet coke and more sun… Tomorrow we are headed for Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo. I am really looking forward to the next stop, new territory for me….only downside, tenders required…. Should be a fun day!
