Grand Cayman

I was very happy to arrive in Grand Cayman this morning since it’s probably my favorite Caribbean island. I went to the beach down by Royal Palms by the condos where I always stay. The beach has improved greatly since my last visit but still hasn’t gotten back to what it once was. I saw and old friend Janice who lives at the Sea Gull condo complex. She was very happy because she and her significant other just moved back in since the terrible destruction caused by Hurricane Ivan. I went to Island Pine Villas and inquired about there intentions to take guests now that they are repaired. The property manager said they would no longer do short term rentals. I was very disappointed because we have been going there for years. I can do long term rentals for at least 3 months which is difficult right now because I’m so booked. I guess I could bag my World Cruise next year and got to Cayman for 3 to 4 months…something to think about. I then spent about 3 hours at the beach until the dark storm clouds appeared. I went back into Georgetown where it was raining when I arrived. I decided to go back to the ship and try the pool. It’s easier to escape when showers come. The rest of the afternoon was fine, sunny until 3:00 when I went in. I was invited once again by Captain Burgess to go to the bridge while we departed Grand Cayman. I went once again and enjoyed it as before. Tomorrow is another day at sea and the last day for this cruise. I arrive in Ft Lauderdale Saturday morning and I’ll spend most of the day calling family and friends…and bronzing (hopefully).
